Charles died without issue, according to some. Others claim the John Stewart noted here was his son. See Stewart Clan Magazine G, pp 100-101.

Their is a record of a Charles Stewart filing a claim against the Creek Indians regarding the stolen property and death of his father, John Stewart, 8 May 1786. The claim was filed in Wilkes County, GA."

Also called Sarah Statham Loving, in a record from Brenda Hester. See also SCM, G, p 100, which notes a marriage could have been to Sarah Loving. Also her place of birth, marriage date and place,  and the family line below her are from Brenda.
SCM (D, p114) notes she first married William Forbes, second Charles Stewart. Forbes served in  Capt. John Stewart's company from Amherst Co. in the war. The Amherst Co. record says "Charles Stewart m. Sally Furbush, 15 Dec., 1785."
